Job summary

Accela Healthcare’s Germantown facility in Philadelphia seeks an experienced Director of Nursing to lead the nursing department and drive clinical excellence. The DON will ensure compliance with CMS regulations, mentor staff, and oversee care plans to deliver high-quality resident-centered care.

The role requires collaboration with physicians, rehabilitation services, pharmacy, and social services to support outcomes and performance improvement across the facility.

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania RN license
• Minimum of 3 years nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
• Prior experience as DON or Assistant DON preferred
• Thorough knowledge of CMS regulations and state survey processes
• Experience with electronic medical records (PointClickCare preferred)

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all nursing operations within the facility
• Promote a culture of quality, safety, and resident-centered care
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain nursing staff
• Supervise Unit Managers, RN Supervisors, LPNs, and CNAs
• Monitor staffing levels and support scheduling
• Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
• Prepare for and participate in surveys
• Review clinical documentation and care plans
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Oversee infection prevention, risk management, and clinical education
• Foster positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, and staff
