Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's in Nursing or related field; if not in Nursing, BSN required.
• Virginia RN licensure or eligibility/compact state for hire; Virginia licensure required for employment.
• Minimum 7 years of clinical experience with 3 years of progressive leadership.
• Experience in academic medical center preferred.
• Master's in Nursing or accredited program; specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities and initiatives to enhance nursing excellence and Magnet Hospital recognition.
• Implement, communicate, monitor and evaluate professional practices and strategies.
• Oversee day-to-day unit operations and staff leadership with leadership team guidance as needed.
• Advise on employee discipline, goals, budget, and unit guidelines; assess staff performance.
• Maintain frequent visibility across shifts and weekends to support staff communication.
