Job summary

The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas invites applications for a Director of Nursing at our Fremont, Ohio residence. This leadership role oversees nursing operations, staff development, care coordination, and regulatory compliance to deliver high-quality resident care.

You will lead a dedicated team, manage budgets, collaborate with physicians, and uphold Mercy values in every interaction. A registered nurse with leadership experience in geriatrics is required, with preferred master's degree.

Qualifications

• Requires RN license with multistate licensure privilege.
• Experience in geriatrics, gerontology, or care for special populations.
• Proven leadership and staff supervision experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing services, medication administration, clinical assessments, and individualized care plans.
• Coordinate with physicians, specialists, pharmacies, and other providers to support continuity of care.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule nursing staff, including performance management and development.
• Develop and maintain clinical policies and programs to support quality care and resident safety.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and safety procedures.
• Monitor and evaluate clinical services, identify improvement opportunities, and implement recommendations.
• Prepare and manage nursing department budgets and contribute to planning.
• Support a safe, respectful environment that promotes health and wellness of Sisters.
