The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas in Fremont, Ohio is seeking a Director of Nursing to oversee the delivery of quality clinical services for residents and to lead nursing operations, supervise staff, coordinate care, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage department budgeting.

Working with physicians and facility leadership, this role promotes safe, compassionate care aligned with Mercy values and fosters resident well‑being while supporting staff development and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an approved nursing program.
• Current, unencumbered RN license with multistate licensure privilege.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing services, medication administration, clinical assessments, and individualized care plans.
• Coordinate with physicians, specialists, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers to support continuity of care.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and support nursing staff, including scheduling, performance management, and professional development.
• Develop and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and programs that support quality care and resident safety.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and safety procedures.
• Monitor and evaluate clinical services, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement recommendations.
• Prepare and manage nursing department budgets and contribute to operational and long-term planning.
• Support a safe, respectful, and compassionate environment that promotes health and wellness.
