Job summary

Longterm Health Management Services in Rockford, IL is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead the clinical operations at a busy skilled nursing facility. You will oversee nursing services, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive strong resident outcomes.

The DON will mentor leaders, coordinate CMS survey readiness, manage staffing and infection prevention, and partner with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license.
• Prior DON experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and survey process.
• Experience managing large nursing teams.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all nursing department operations
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and retention initiatives
• Monitor clinical quality indicators and survey readiness
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to improve resident outcomes
• Mentor and develop nursing leaders, including ADONs and Unit Managers
• Manage infection prevention, quality assurance, and risk management programs
• Maintain strong relationships with residents, families, physicians, and staff
