Job summary

Lima Care Community is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the nursing department, mentor RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, and ensure delivery of high-quality care across the facility. The DON will collaborate with physicians and other clinicians to develop and monitor individualized care plans and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include staffing, budgeting, staff development, resident-family communication, and crisis management to maintain safety and excellence in patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Active RN license in good standing.
• 5–7 years of nursing experience with 3+ years in leadership.
• Experience in long-term care, acute care, or rehab settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the nursing department and supervise staff.
• Recruit, train, onboard, and coach nursing staff to high standards.
• Develop and evaluate individualized care plans with clinicians.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and facility policies; prepare for inspections.
• Lead quality initiatives and maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Assist with budgeting, staffing, and resource management.
• Communicate with residents' families and manage care plan updates.
• Lead emergency response and maintain preparedness protocols.
