Skilled Nursing Center of Battle Creek is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to join our leadership team. The DON oversees daily nursing operations, ensures high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staffing efficiency, and strong clinical program execution.

You will lead nursing personnel, collaborate with administrators, develop staff education, manage resources and budgets, and drive quality improvement to reduce readmissions and improve resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN license in Michigan required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Minimum of three years of previous Director of Nursing experience preferred.
• Previous leadership or management experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and Michigan state regulations governing skilled nursing facilities preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide leadership and oversight of all nursing services to ensure quality resident care and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee daily nursing operations, including staffing, scheduling, and performance management.
• Recruit, onboard, train, supervise, and develop nursing personnel.
• Collaborate with Administrator and interdisciplinary team on admissions, care needs, retention, and discharge planning.
• Ensure adequate staffing, equipment, and supplies for resident care needs.
• Oversee budgets, staffing expenses, and resource allocation; identify opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct daily facility rounds to monitor care, staff performance, and policy compliance.
• Develop and deliver staff education programs to promote clinical excellence.
• Ensure timely completion of resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with regional leadership on quality improvement initiatives.
• Monitor programs and regulatory readiness for inspections and surveys.
• Develop strategies to reduce avoidable hospital readmissions and improve continuity of care.
• Ensure physician involvement and coordination of medical services.
• Remain available for nursing emergencies and designate qualified leadership when unavailable.
• Address employee relations, performance concerns, and corrective actions as per policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
