Job summary

Skilled Nursing Center of Battle Creek is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead the nursing department and uphold high-quality resident care. This role reports to facility leadership and ensures regulatory readiness and effective staffing and budgeting.

The DON will supervise nursing staff, drive education programs, manage admissions planning, and coordinate with clinical leadership to improve resident outcomes and reduce readmissions.

Qualifications

• RN license in Michigan required and CPR certification valid.
• BSN preferred; nursing leadership experience preferred in SNF/long-term care.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and quality improvement.
• Ability to lead, train, and supervise nursing staff and collaborate with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of all nursing services to ensure quality resident care and compliance with regulations.
• Oversee daily nursing operations, staffing, scheduling, and performance.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and develop nursing personnel.
• Collaborate with Administrator and interdisciplinary team on admissions and discharge planning.
• Manage budgets, staffing costs, and resources for the nursing department.
• Conduct rounds, monitor care, and ensure accurate clinical documentation.
