Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Director of Nursing (RN) to lead clinical operations across IDD services in Redding and Chico, CA. This role oversees nursing staff and drives a high standard of person-centered care across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate will possess an accredited nursing degree, an active CA RN license, and strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, with at least 2 years in community health or long-term care supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• RN Director will lead the RN and LVN staff statewide for CA IDD Services and perform professional nursing duties including assessment, treatment, and follow-through resolution of health issues.
• Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active and unrestricted RN license in California.
• Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, care plan development, and admission/discharge activities.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
• 2 years’ experience in community health, long-term care, or with developmentally disabled populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff across multiple programs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with state licensing and healthcare standards.
• Partner with program leadership on quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as the clinical subject matter expert within the IDD leadership team.
