Job summary

Saba Health Care in Illinois seeks a Director of Nursing to lead nursing services, ensure quality resident care, and coordinate with administrators. The role handles staffing, policy development, regulatory compliance, and ongoing QA activities to maintain high standards of care.

The DON will oversee budgeting, staff orientation, performance evaluations, and interdisciplinary collaboration with rehabilitation and therapy teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current RN license in Illinois.
• Knowledge of nursing services, administration, rehabilitation, geriatric nursing.
• Experience in supervisory roles in health care facilities.
• Ability to make independent decisions and sound judgments.
• Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
• Ability to supervise and work with professional and non-professional staff.
• Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret nursing programs.

Responsibilities

• Support the facility's philosophy of care and achieve its goals and objectives.
• Develop and maintain nursing service objectives, standards of nursing practice, and policies.
• Participate in the development and implementation of resident care policies.
• Hire staff, interview, verify references, and background checks to meet staffing needs.
• Decide and propose staffing needs and organization of the department, and obtain approval.
