Job summary

Kathy Ireland Recovery Centers is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the nursing team within a behavioral health facility in Morgantown, WV. The DON ensures clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care across shifts.

The role requires an active RN license in the state, a BSN, and strong leadership in behavioral health nursing, with experience supervising staff and maintaining high-quality documentation in EMR systems.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of employment.
• BSN from an accredited institution.
• Evidence of current CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day nursing leadership and foster a therapeutic milieu within the unit.
• Manage nursing staff schedules and ensure adequate shift coverage.
• Oversee compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards (including Joint Commission).
• Assess patient medical and behavioral health needs and document assessments in the EMR.
• Lead interdisciplinary collaboration on care planning and interventions.
• Oversee MAR reviews and reconciliation with pharmacy records.
• Deliver direct nursing services including assessments and discharge coordination.
• Supervise nursing staff performance and coordinate training and development.
• Ensure readiness for emergencies and safe care transitions.
