Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a doctoral-level researcher to lead clinical research initiatives, working with the Research Director and scientists on topic selection, objectives, and study design. You will drive the full research lifecycle from protocol design through data analysis, manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed journals, abstracts for conferences, and dissemination to colleagues.

Grant writing and intramural funding experience are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree or equivalent (PhD/MD) with at least 1 year of research experience.
• Experience designing and implementing clinical research projects.
• Proficient in manuscript writing and presenting results.

Responsibilities

• Develops, designs, and implements clinical research projects.
• Collaborates with the Research Director and Research scientists on study design and objectives.
• Implements all aspects of research from protocol design to data interpretation and dissemination.
• Writes manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and prepares abstracts for presentations.
• Organizes work by priority across ongoing studies to meet timelines.
• Participates in development of newsletters, tip cards, skill packs, trainings, and other dissemination methods.
• Leads grant applications and intramural funding efforts.
• Assists in training staff, clinical fellows, and residents.
• Develops research databases, monitors data quality, and performs statistical analyses.

Physical Requirements

Long periods of sitting or standing and some walking. Occasional lifting necessary. Individual must be able to work in clinical care areas and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education, Experience And Certifications

Doctoral Degree (Ph. D, M.D, D.M.D, D.V.M or equivalent) and at least 1 year of research experience.
