Qualifications

• Unencumbered nursing license in Texas.
• At least two years of instruction experience as a registered nurse within the last five years.
• Teaching or precepting experience preferred but not required.
• Passion for nursing, education and lifelong learning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to serve students and colleagues with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Implement the college's philosophy, curriculum and course objectives through clinical teaching and service.
• Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students.
• Be available to staff at the agencies and provide remediation as needed.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments aligned with learning needs.
• Correct and return homework, quizzes and papers in a timely manner.
• Contribute to ongoing program development and evaluation.
• May teach didactic content under supervision and keep the course coordinator informed.
• Collaborate with administration, staff and faculty to improve operations and student satisfaction.
• Participate in assessment programs and campus retention efforts.
• Model professional behavior and uphold standards of customer service and collaboration.
