Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Unencumbered TX nursing license.
• Two years of teaching or precepting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching, and service to the College, community, health system and profession.
• Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
• Plans clinical experiences and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students.
• Makes self-available to staff at the agencies.
• Evaluates and provides feedback to students based on course objectives.
• Is available for remediation of students as required.
• Orients and maintains current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.
• Develops and posts written clinical assignments aligned with student knowledge and learning needs.
• Corrects and returns homework, quizzes, tests, and clinical paperwork in a timely manner.
• Contributes to program development, implementation, and evaluation.
• May teach didactic content under supervision.
• Keeps course coordinator informed of student and agency issues.
• Works with administration and faculty to improve operations and student satisfaction.
• Participates in the College Assessment Program and retention efforts.
• Serves as a professional role model in customer service, collaboration, and professionalism.
• Uses relationship skills for group problem solving and negotiation.
• Complies with regulatory rules and standards.
• Reports to the dean or assistant dean; course coordinator provides oversight.
• Handles related duties as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
