Job summary

South University is seeking a Nursing Clinical Adjunct to ensure the effectiveness of clinical experiences and to prepare and teach clinical and/or laboratory nursing courses. You will collaborate with the Lead Clinical Faculty, Clinical Coordinator, and Program Director to deliver high-quality nursing education on campus and online.

The role emphasizes supervising students, developing syllabi, and providing engaging materials while maintaining ethical standards and a student-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing; master’s degree preferred.
• Two years’ clinical experience in nursing.
• Experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pediatrics, Emergency Department, or ICU/Critical Care.
• Membership in a professional association related to area of instruction preferred.
• Current knowledge in area of clinical practice.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding conflict resolution skills.
• Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills.
• Computer-based skills (software, analytics, report writing).
• Demonstrated clinical competency and professional standards of practice.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students in clinical practice, internships, observations and labs.
• Counsels or refers students with clinical performance issues.
• Maintains high moral and ethical standards as educator and professional.
• Debriefs and evaluates students in clinical practice and field experiences.
• Teaches hours and courses stated in the employment contract.
• Meets all clinicals and scheduled responsibilities.
• Articulates course learning outcomes for student understanding.
• Helps create course/clinical syllabus.
• Creates course materials to deliver content engagingly.
• Be available during office hours and in small group sessions.
