Job summary

The UW–Madison School of Nursing seeks Clinical Faculty to join our team of educators dedicated to preparing the next generation of professional nurses. You will teach nursing students in traditional and accelerated programs, provide hands-on clinical instruction, and foster active learning in classroom and clinical settings.

This 9‑month, 100% FTE position requires in-person work and RN/APRN experience. The minimum starting salary is $83,350 with a comprehensive benefits package and salary

Qualifications

• One or more years of teaching experience at undergraduate or graduate levels in nursing or in professional staff development in acute care settings.
• Three or more years of professional experience in adult acute care settings as a registered nurse (RN), advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).

Responsibilities

• Teach in baccalaureate (accelerated, traditional, and AD to BSN completion), and DNP or PhD programs based on school/program needs.
• Teach using course descriptions and objectives, ensuring students meet clinical hour requirements if teaching clinical courses.
• Employ active learning, simulated experiential learning, and clinical experiential learning in hospitals or other health care settings as required by course assignments.
• Collaborate with faculty on curriculum and course planning at graduate and undergraduate levels using competency-based teaching and learning assessment strategies.
• Participate in faculty meetings, development activities, and service to the School to advance its mission and vision.
• Pursue scholarly areas (e.g., evaluation studies to improve teaching and learning).
• Collaborate with colleagues in practice settings to contribute to student learning, practice improvement, or community outreach.
