Baptist Health Lexington is hiring a Nursing Assistant for the Mother/Baby Unit on the third shift. This part-time position (24 hours per week) supports RN staff with direct patient care and family education, focusing on mom and newborn care.

The role requires a Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification or completion of first year nursing clinicals, a high school diploma, and a current BLS certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire. Benefits accompany part-time status.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support mother/baby care, safety, and family education on the unit.

Our newborn nursery is staffed by two Newborn Assessment Nurses (NANs), and families receive breastfeeding guidance from staff along with knowledgeable certified lactation consultants. Many members of the team have received extra training and certification in maternal and newborn care. Our focus is assisting families in getting the best start possible and making the transition home as smooth as possible through quality care, education, and support.JOB SUMMARY:Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and support services to patients and families. This role performs selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and overall care of patients.REQUIREMENTS:-High School Diploma or equivalent-Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.-Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
