Harlem Hospital Center, part of NYC Health + Hospitals, is seeking an Associate Director of Nursing to oversee nursing services and administrative operations during evening and night shifts. The role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and collaboration with the nurse manager and executive team.

The position emphasizes staff management, patient care coordination, and participation in performance improvement initiatives across hospital departments.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration or related discipline with 3 years of nursing experience, 2 years in admin/supervisory roles.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with 4 years of nursing experience, 3 years in admin/supervisory roles.
• May require Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association; obtain within 60 days if required.

Responsabilités

• Provide supervisory/administrative coverage of Nursing Services during evening and night shifts.
• Coordinate patient care and clinical links between nurse manager and department direction during absences.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop programs to improve patient care and staff performance.
• Oversee staffing, performance improvement initiatives and monthly staff meetings.
