Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage is seeking a bedside Nursing Assistant to support the RN and charge nurse in delivering safe, patient-focused care. Under supervision you will help maintain a hazard-free, clean environment and communicate patient needs clearly to the nursing team.

Qualifications

• Coursework or training in Medical Terminology.
• Must pass hospital medical terminology test within 90 days.
• Within 30 days obtain National Provider BLS (American Heart Association).

Under direct supervision this position is accountable to the bedside RN and charge nurse to facilitate a safe and secure environment for the patient, family and providers in the department in completion of the duties delegated to them for the shift and maintaining clear communication between the needs of the patient through the RN and Charge Nurse. These activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment which facilitates patient focused care.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Medical Terminology course, or equivalent educ/experience
• Successful completion of hospital medical terminology test within 90 days of hire.
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completed training as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• 6 months of Health care experience.
