Job Summary

This job is responsible for providing general support to an assigned work unit relating to a clean environment for patient care, patient mobility, and maintenance of equipment. It offers practical work experience and clinical training for transition to other healthcare roles (e.g., CNA). The role includes exposure to healthcare functions and activities, with specific duties structured to fit the department's needs. Activities may include furnishing information, clerical assistance/data entry, and similar work.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely and comfortably to and from nursing units and departments.
• Assist licensed healthcare providers with lifting, turning, and transporting patients.
• Perform housekeeping duties, restock supplies, and maintain a clean environment.
• Assist with cleaning, stocking equipment, and related maintenance tasks.
• Handle clerical tasks such as data entry, packaging educational materials, and supporting projects.
• Support inpatient floors, including bedside visits, transporting specimens, and serving as unit access screener.
• Deliver food trays to patient rooms.
• Act as a resource for patients and visitors, addressing inquiries and concerns.
• Perform other duties within the scope of an unlicensed individual.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Qualifications

Enrollment in an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant training program prior to hire is required. The position is temporary, supporting students while in training.

Experience & Education

Any combination of experience and education demonstrating interest in healthcare is acceptable.

Licensure & Certification

Current enrollment in an accredited CNA training course is required before hire.
