Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a support professional to assist nursing staff with delegated clinical or laboratory procedures under RN supervision. You will monitor and maintain clinical equipment, record vital signs, stock inventory, and transport patients between locations.

Position involves admitting/discharge support and general duties as assigned. Candidates should have a high school diploma and be prepared for physically demanding tasks in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience necessary.
• Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities which include moving, transporting and positioning patients and equipment as well as constantly positioning self to provide patient care and related duties.
• Progressive knowledge in methods, procedures, materials and equipment of designated area.
• 6 months experience in skilled long-term facility/acute care hospital, or
• Volunteer work of the equivalent of 1 year or experience in short-term care facility (i.e., rehab), or
• Completion of Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) program, or
• Enrollment in pre-PA or pre-MA program track, or
• Associate Nursing Degree (AND) program
