Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA is seeking a Nursing Assistant II to support the nursing team in delivering patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist in the nursing process, collect data for assessment, and help implement the formal plan of care while upholding confidentiality and providing service excellence.

Schedule: 40 hours per week with rotating days (10a-6p, 11a-7p, or 12p-8p) including occasional weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant Program.
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Successful completion of an EMT Program.
• Successful completion of an LPN Program.
• Equivalent clinical Military experience.
• Nursing student enrolled with Fundamentals of Nursing/Nursing 101 in lieu of a Nursing Assistant Program.
• Successful completion of the Cape Cod Hospital NAII Training program.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.
• Successful passage of CPI training within 6 months of hire and recertification annually.
• Successful passage of the Cape Cod Hospital written competency exam for NAII.

Responsabilités

• Assists in orientation of other personnel to the unit.

Purpose of Position:

Performs as a member of the Nursing Team various duties assisting Staff Nurses in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Description

• Participates in the nursing process during delivery of patient care.
• Assists in providing nursing care to patients and collects data for assessment of physical, psychological, and social dimensions under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Participates in implementing a formal plan of care for the patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Participates in at least four unit staff meetings per year, attends mandatory programs.
• Adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
• Assesses personal and learning development needs. Regularly updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served.
• Represents hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters and by presenting the hospital in a manner that will best market the services provided.
• Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.
• Performs other work related duties and activities as assigned or requested by his/her immediate supervisor.

Additional NURSING ASSISTANT II PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrates proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems).
• Assists in orientation of other personnel to the unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
• Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant Program
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program
• Successful completion of an EMT Program
• Successful completion of an LPN Program
• Equivalent clinical Military experience
• Nursing student who is currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing School Program and has completed Fundamentals of Nursing/Nursing 101 in lieu of a Nursing Assistant Program
• Successful completion of the Cape Cod Hospital NAII Training program
• Current Basic Life Support Certification
• Successful passage of CPI training within 6 months of hire and must maintain recertification annually
• Successful passage of the Cape Cod Hospital written competency exam for NAII
