Job summary

Cayuga Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant for 4 North Med/Surg. No experience required; on-site training and certification opportunities are provided. The role emphasizes direct patient care and ADL support in a collaborative hospital setting.

Shift information includes three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend, onsite at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY. BLS will be provided if needed, and CNA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent experience
• BLS- will be provided if needed

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care- Toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and recording intake and output of fluids, recording patient weight, obtaining vital signs, and reporting abnormal findings or changes in the patient's conditions to the RN.
• Reinforcing education with patients; i.e. incentive spirometer use, and fall prevention.
• Maintaining a clean and organized patient bedside area to ensure a safe workspace.
• Intentionally rounding on each patient every hour.
• Mandatory Orientation Training completion required: one full week of Monday through Friday 8a-4p prior to starting work on the unit.
