Job summary

Cayuga Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for Cayuga Medical Center Surgical Stay on a part-time, day shift. The role offers hands-on training and no experience is required to start, with opportunities for CNA certification and growth.

You will assist with ADLs, monitor patients, and support RNs in delivering safe care on the unit. The position requires the completion of a one-week orientation and includes weekend/holiday shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS training provided if needed.
• NYS CNA certification preferred.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care including toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and reporting intake and output; record patient weight and vital signs.
• Reinforce patient education (incentive spirometer) and fall prevention.
• Maintain a clean, organized bedside area for safety.
• Intentionally round on each patient every hour.
• Complete mandatory orientation training prior to starting on the unit.
