Providence Alaska Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support the bedside RN and help maintain a safe, patient-centered environment in Anchorage. Under supervision, you will complete shift duties, communicate clearly with patients and the care team, and assist with basic care tasks to ensure safe, hazard-free care.

Qualifications

• BLS/CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
• 6 months working with individuals with mental health or substance use disorders.

Under direct supervision this position is accountable to the bedside RN to facilitate a safe and secure environment for the patient, family and providers in the department. Responsible for the completion of the duties delegated to them for the shift and maintaining clear communication between the patient and the RN. These activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment which facilitates patient focused care.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Completion of Medical Terminology course or,
• Successful completion of hospital Medical terminology test within 90 days of hire
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
• 6 months Working with individuals who have mental health and/or substance abuse disorders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Completed training as a Certified Nursing Assistant
• Completion of CNA program or six months of health care.
