Western New Mexico University seeks an experienced nursing educator to use appropriate teaching methods for pre-licensure BSN courses. This on-campus role involves face-to-face and online delivery, lab and simulation supervision, and clinical instruction at hospital settings.
Requirements include an MSN, current BLS, and an RN license for NM; bilingual Spanish preferred. Travel to Deming for class and clinical activities is expected during the semester.
Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning for Nursing courses.
Master of Science in Nursing ( MSN ) as per accreditation standards. A clinical background in bedside nursing is required. BLS must be current. Active, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse (RN) with eligibility for RN licensure in the state of New Mexico. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Supervision of nursing students in the clinical setting. Ability to work as a team with other University faculty. Communication skills with critical thinking regarding student supervision. Competence in all nursing skills for the pre-licensure BSN -level student. Must be knowledgeable of university policies and procedures. Must be able to handle multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the University and community. Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications.
Normal office, may travel some within the community when needed. May be required to transport normal office equipment and materials. Ability to comprehend and work with a variety of information from various sources. Able to clearly communicate with a diverse population of individuals. Ability to compose correspondence and reports and remain in a sedentary position for prolonged periods of time. May be required to work additional hours or days depending on circumstances.
