Job summary

Prisma Health North Greenville LTAC is seeking a nursing assistant to support patient care in the Nursing Service department. Responsibilities include data collection, basic nursing procedures, and assisting with treatments and equipment maintenance.

You will collaborate with RNs to ensure patient safety and comfort during day shifts at North Greenville Med Campus, with emphasis on timely documentation and quality care delivery.

Qualifications

• Ability to assist with daily living activities and basic nursing tasks.
• Willingness to perform routine patient care duties as directed by RN.
• Capable of accurate data collection and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and hygiene.
• Turns and repositions patients; assist with mobility and transfers.
• Take and record vital signs accurately.
• Prepare patients for meals and assist with feeding.
• Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens; deliver to the appropriate department.
• Complete EMR documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, hallways, and supply areas.
• Perform point-of-care testing as trained and report lab values to RN.

Job Summary

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for the collection of data related to patient status. Performance of basic nursing procedures. On-going collection and documentation of patient data. Assistance with treatments and procedures. Assistance with maintenance of patient care equipment.

Accountabilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living and hygiene. Turns and repositions patients alone or with assistance. May transport patients and assist with walking. Assisting adult/pediatric patients with toileting needs in relation to their age including emptying established colostomy bags and urinary catheter removal. Assists with fall prevention interventions and patient restraints as delegated. Removing and reapplying anti-emboli hose or compression devices. 50%
• Assists with admission of patients to the unit by preparing room, greeting, and orienting patient and/or family to the unit (bed, call light, phone, TV). 10%
• Taking and recording vital signs accurately and with repeating questionable values. 10%
• Preparing patients for meals and assisting in feeding and providing snacks and supplements. 10%
• Collecting urine, stool, and sputum specimens. Delivering specimens to appropriate department as requested. 5%
• Completing documentation in EMR in accurate and timely manner. 5%
• Maintaining cleanliness and order of hospital room, utility room, diet kitchen, hallways, and alcoves. Disposes of excess linen and keeps linen emptied. 5%
• Performs point of care testing as trained and delegated by RN. Reports lab values to RN. 5%

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
