Job summary

Baptist Health in Corbin, KY is seeking a Nursing Assistant (PRN, 1st Shift) for 3 North Surgical. You will provide direct patient care, monitor vitals, and assist with admissions and procedures in a 36-bed unit. Certification or nursing program validation is required, with BLS due within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• KY Nurse Aide Certification or completion of first year of Nursing program with clinical validation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) to be completed within 30 days of hire if not already obtained.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding and positioning.
• Obtains and documents vital signs, intake/output, weights and specimens.
• Performs delegated procedures such as blood glucose monitoring, EKGs and venipuncture.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, discharges and procedures.
• Maintains charts, physician orders and unit coordination duties.
• Maintains supplies, equipment and a safe patient care environment.
• Responds to patient needs and emergencies with compassionate care.
