Job summary

Corewell Health in Royal Oak is seeking a part-time observer/nursing assistant to support the Pre Post Recovery Suite at Royal Oak Hospital. You will provide patient care under the plan of care, assist with safe transport, and document services in the EMR. A sign-on bonus of up to $1,500 is offered.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, BLS, and CNA certification preferred; prior hospital or long-term care experience is a plus. Shift is Day, 5:30 am–4:00 pm, Mon–Fri, 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS required.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the plan of care and RN supervision.
• Safely transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher and document services.
• Serve as Observer for patients needing constant observation, in person or via remote video.
• Perform general receptionist and clerical duties and document care in the EMR.

Scope of work

• Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
• Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety.
• Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
• Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
• Current CNA certification preferred
