Cayuga Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to work on-site at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, NY. You will support nurses with direct patient care, assist with ADLs, and help maintain a safe, clean bedside area. The role includes hourly rounding and mandatory orientation prior to starting on the unit.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and may provide BLS training if needed. Shift is 12 hours, twice per month, with a pay range of $19.47–$25.75 per hour.

Nursing Assistants are responsible for working closely with the nurse to provide excellent direct patient care. This person supports activities of daily living (ADL's) with patients and prevents complications. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Direct Patient Care- Toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and recording intake and output of fluids, recording patient weight, obtaining vital signs, and reporting abnormal findings or changes in the patient's conditions to the RN.
• Reinforcing education with patients; i.e. incentive spirometer use, and fall prevention.
• Maintaining a clean and organized patient bedside area to ensure a safe workspace.
• Intentionally rounding on each patient every hour.
• Mandatory Orientation Training completion required: one full week of Monday through Friday 8a-4p prior to starting work on the unit.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard)
• Lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs. (e.g., boxes, equipment, IV solutions), with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to stoop, kneel or crouch for tasks such as retrieving items from lower shelves or filing in low drawers
• Ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods, as the position may require
• Capacity to operate job-related equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation

Location, Travel and Shift Requirements: Onsite – Schuyler Hopsital – 220 Steuben St Montour Falls, NY 14865 Shift – 12-Hour Shift (twice per month) Holidays (1 per season Winter/Summer)

Pay Range Disclosure: Standard Rate of $19.47 to $25. 75 per hour
