Support Position

Hours per Week: 6:45pm-7:15am, every other weekend as needed

5 Center is AnMed’s 30-bed Progressive Cardiac Telemetry Unit, primarily caring for patients post-cardiac surgery, stepping down from CICU, with congestive heart failure, or admitted with heart arrhythmias or chest pain. SUMMARY:

Provides quality patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Offers direct or indirect nursing care to patients across all age groups in the hospital setting.

• Performs personal care such as bathing, skin care, turning, positioning, and toileting.
• Assists patients with meals, ambulation, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Obtains and documents vital signs; reports abnormal results to the nurse.
• Measures and records intake, output, height, and weight.
• Participates in hourly rounds assessing pain, positioning, toileting needs, placement of personal items, call light within reach, and VTE prophylaxis.
• Communicates learning needs to charge nurse or nurse manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Nursing Assistant:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved nursing assistant training course is preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of approved Nursing Assistant training course required.

*RN students may be eligible for Student Nurse Technician opportunities. Students must provide a college transcript showing successful course completion.*
