Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Tech (CNA) - CICU NIGHTS (Finance)

Nemours is seeking a Patient Care Technician (CICU) full-time to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida. Click Here to take a virtual tour.

Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children's Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital features the area's only 24-hour Emergency Department designed for kids and outpatient pediatric clinics with specialized services. The hospital is designed by families for families, blending nature with healthcare innovation to deliver world-class care to children in Central Florida and beyond. We also provide outpatient care in various clinics across the region.

Job Description:
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, playing, etc.) and provide other patient care as directed.
  • Prepare rooms for patient admissions, ensuring they are clean and equipped appropriately.
  • Participate in comfort rounds, if applicable.
  • Perform vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN.
  • Record patient intake and output as directed by the RN.
  • Maintain stock levels of equipment and supplies in designated areas.
  • Follow sterile techniques during formula preparation, adhering to guidelines from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Document patient care in the electronic medical record as required.
  • Transport patients within the unit and assist with discharge procedures.
  • Serve as receptionist by answering calls, greeting visitors, and managing unit systems.
  • Participate in hospital education programs and adhere to standards of behavior.
  • Assist in delivering supplies and communicate patient needs with other departments.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and attend meetings regularly.
  • Support family-centered care and maintain a professional appearance and PPE use.
  • Complete annual skills requirements.
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the State of Florida or completed one full semester of clinical rotations in an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of one year of patient care experience preferred.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
