Role Overview
The Nursing Assistant (NA) delivers resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include providing basic health care such as bathing, grooming, dressing, recording vital signs, assisting with transfers and mobility, and supporting psychosocial needs. The NA also aids with meals, housekeeping, laundry, and participates in wellness and recreational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities and personal care
- Document resident interactions and health status
- Communicate changes in resident conditions to nursing staff
- Support infection control and safety protocols
- Contribute to a positive dining and living environment
- Provide psychosocial support and encourage participation in activities
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum age 16
- Current CNA certification or enrollment in certification program
- Ability to complete annual competency testing and continuing education
- Prior experience in long-term care optional
- Valid driver’s license and ability to perform essential driving functions (if applicable)
