Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation, in a joint venture with Select Medical, seeks a Nursing Assistant (PCT) for the Temple, TX inpatient rehabilitation facility. This full-time night shift position runs 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

The role supports patients with brain, spinal, neurological, orthopedic, and trauma-related needs. Responsibilities include vital sign collection, personal care, meals, mobility assistance, and transporting patients between centers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal and daily care, such as bathing, oral hygiene, shaving and hair care.
• Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients who are unable to feed themselves and document oral intake.
• Turn and position immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participate in mobility program.
• Transport patients to designated areas, such as to and from various treatment centers.

• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
