Methodist Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Neuroscience team on the 7W unit. You will deliver direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse and contribute to safe, patient-centered care for stroke, seizure, and neurosurgery patients.

The role requires being currently registered as a MN CNA or being an LPN student/junior nursing student with clinical exposure, and CPR skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry or be an LPN student or a Jr. level nursing student who has completed first quarter clinicals with an accredited RN or LPN program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Support neuroscience patients on a 28-bed unit with telemetry and post-acute needs.

Position Summary

The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing their skill and expertise to complement other health care providers.

Department Summary

Neuroscience (7W) is a 28-bed neuroscience unit. We primarily care for strokes, seizures, and neurosurgery patients. This unit has hardwired telemetry. We are typically caring for patients in their post-acute phase. Safe, patient-centered care is the highest priority on 7W. Candidate should possess good critical thinking, and multitasking and prioritization skills. Candidate must have a clean work record with no “written warnings” within the last 6 months.

Work Schedule

.6 FTE - Overnight shift with every other weekend (8-hour shifts)

Required Qualifications

All candidates must be current on the State of Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry OR be an LPN student or a Jr. level nursing student, which means completion of first quarter clinicals with an accredited RN or LPN program.

Preferred Qualifications

Currently validated CPR skills preferred
