Scheduled Hours
Full Time; Night Shift 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, including rotating weekends and holidays.
Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days.
- Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the team member practices.
Education Required
- Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or
- High School Graduate.
Major Responsibilities
- Assist RN with daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation, possibly with assistive devices.
- Measure and document vital signs, intake and output, weights, and other data; document in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Perform purposeful rounding under RN supervision and communicate observations and concerns promptly.
- Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes under RN supervision, ensuring proper setup and patient belongings management.
- Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as indicated, maintaining accuracy and competency.
- Complete errands, maintain supplies, and clean equipment and work areas.
- Position and transport patients safely, assist with nutritional needs, and maintain skin integrity.
- Remove IVs, provide post-mortem care, and perform bladder scans as required by site.
- Follow infection prevention policies, practicing hand hygiene and proper attire.
- Provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development principles, and interpret patient data accordingly.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Maintain annual educational requirements for hospital certifications.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach during shifts.
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Push/pull with 30 lbs force; perform sliding transfers with assistance.
- Operate equipment, have functional vision and hearing, and wear protective clothing as needed.
