Position Details

Full Time, Night Shift 7pm - 7am

Neuro/Stroke Unit: 3 shifts a week (every third weekend Sat and Sun)

Summary
  • This is a cross-trained position that may be assigned as a Unit Secretary or Nursing Assistant. The Unit Secretary handles office management, clerical duties, and facilitates communication and order processing. The Nursing Assistant provides patient care under RN supervision, supporting the operation of the nursing unit in accordance with policies and organizational goals.
Responsibilities

Key duties include:

  • Communication and Customer Service: Greet patients and visitors, manage communication systems, assist with patient transport, and perform customer service rounding.
  • Electronic Order Management: Assist with accurate entry of electronic orders, monitor alerts, and coordinate patient schedules.
  • Chart Management: Maintain and organize patient charts, prepare documents, and facilitate record requests.
  • Patient Flow: Manage admissions, transfers, discharges, and census logs, ensure documentation compliance.
  • Nursing Assistant - Patient Care: Provide age-appropriate care, assist with hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and safety, and document care accurately.
  • Communication & Documentation: Communicate effectively with the care team and document patient interactions properly.
  • Role Development & Support: Engage in ongoing learning, support organizational initiatives, and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
Credentials
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • Certified Nurse Aid
  • Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
Education or Equivalent Experience
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Experience: 0-1 years in acute care or clinical training; 0-1 years secretarial or healthcare experience
