Essentia Health - Fargo Surgery Unit is hiring a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, or Department Director. The position offers 8-hour shifts (10:30am–7:30pm) on Monday through Friday with no weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene, nutrition, comfort care, safely transferring patients, taking vital signs, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Job Description: Essentia Health - Fargo Surgery Unit is hiring a Nursing Assistant. This position is 8 hour shifts, 10:30am-7:30pm, Monday-Friday, no weekend or holiday.

Education Qualifications

• Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.
• Providing personal hygiene care
• assisting with nutritional needs
• Providing comfort care and other assistance
• appropriately and safely transferring patients
• taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping
• recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN
• maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process
• Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• The OR nursing assistant is responsible for transportation of patients, room turnovers & set ups, positioning assistance, specimen transport, and ordering/stocking items in the clean utility.

This position requires the ability to work the following schedule:

• 40 hours per week 8 hour shifts, 10:30am-7:00pm Monday-Friday No weekends or holidays.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire
• Certified Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health preferred.
• If not certified as a Nursing Assistant, must be registered as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within 3 months from date of employment.
