Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Dallas Downtown (DeSoto) in DeSoto, TX is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for PRN/Per Diem schedules. The role focuses on compassionate patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, rounds, and mobility assistance, in a high-acuity recovery environment.

Responsibilities include transporting patients, maintaining clean rooms and equipment, and supporting daily operations. A high school diploma/GED and hospital NA experience plus BLS within 90 days are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned
