Job Overview:

Provides basic, direct patient care, considering patient age-specific needs. Works as part of the healthcare team under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, ensuring all care aligns with department policies, procedures, and Standards of Care.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma
• BLS Certification through American Heart Association
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Effective communication and basic math skills
• Completion of all Orientation Programs

Preferred:

• Previous Nursing Assistant experience or completion of two Registered Nurse clinical courses and/or a Certified Nursing Assistant program

Certifications and Licenses:

• BLS certification through American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

• Nights 11:00PM - 7:00AM
• Every other weekend, schedule varies during the week based on department needs
• Part-Time (22.5 hrs)
• Mandatory Orientation

Essential Functions:

• Participates in patient needs assessment and communicates with the healthcare team
• Engages in staff, patient, and family education within personal knowledge scope
• Contributes to unit Quality Improvement activities
• Uses understanding of growth and development principles to address age-specific needs and care
