Job summary

UnityPoint Health–Meriter in Madison, WI is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a 0.7 FTE PM shift on an 8-hour schedule with occasional weekend and holiday rotation. The CNA provides basic nursing care under RN supervision, practicing medical asepsis and maintaining patient dignity and privacy.

Join a 35-bed Med/Surgical unit with diverse patients in general surgery, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, ENT and plastics.

Qualifications

• State of Wisconsin certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• CPR certification or eligible for certification

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing assistant procedures taught during training
• Maintains patient dignity and privacy and adheres to safety policies under RN supervision
• Completes assigned tasks within scheduled shift on Med/Surgical unit

The Nursing Assistant (CNA) practices and performs the basic nursing assistant procedures which were taught during their outside training and certification program. The CNA is expected to practice medical asepsis, respect the dignity and privacy of every patient, maintain objectivity during patient care, adhere to basic hospital safety policies and procedures, and practice within their scope of training. The CNA works under the close supervision of the Registered Nurse. The CNA receives specific work assignments that are both written and oral with the expectation to complete the work assignment within their scheduled shift.

Our Med/Surgical unit is excellent opportunity to work as a team to provide the best care for our patients that can include, but not limited to general surgery, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, ENT and plastics as well as general medical patients.
