Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role emphasizes medical asepsis, patient dignity, privacy, and safety, with assignments given in written and oral form to be completed within the shift.

The position is 0.8 FTE on the night shift (2300–0730, Sun-Wed), with every other weekend and holiday rotation, and a 32-hour workweek. UnityPoint Health offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive work culture.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required or eligible for certification.
• Experience with basic nursing assistant procedures and patient care.
• Must be available for CNA orientation in first week, 8:00–4:30.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic nursing assistant procedures taught in training.
• Maintain medical asepsis and patient privacy.
• Follow safety policies and work within scope of training under RN supervision.
• Complete written and oral assignments within scheduled shift.

Job Description

The Nursing Assistant (CNA) practices and performs the basic nursing assistant procedures which were taught during their outside training and certification program. The CNA is expected to practice medical asepsis, respect the dignity and privacy of every patient, maintain objectivity during patient care, adhere to basic hospital safety policies and procedures, and practice within their scope of training. The CNA works under the close supervision of the Registered Nurse. The CNA receives specific work assignments that are both written and oral with the expectation to complete the work assignment within their scheduled shift.
