Job summary

Essentia Health’s St. Mary’s Hospital Superior unit seeks a patient-focused nurse aide to provide direct care under supervision. You’ll assist with hygiene, nutrition, and comfort, perform transfers, take vital signs, and help maintain a safe, clean environment to promote healing.

This role supports 0.6 FTE with day/evening/night rotation, including every other weekend and on-call coverage as needed; employment offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to grow within Essentia Health.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Completion of a recognized nurse aide training program OR current registration on the state nurse aide registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support safety and comfort under RN supervision.
• Assist with hygiene, nutrition, comfort, transfers, vital signs, and charting.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and report to the RN promptly.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment in alignment with Joint Commission standards.

Education Qualifications:

Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Duties will vary by patient care unit/department and include but are not limited to: Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process. Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.

This position will work the following:

• 48 hours per 2 weeks
• Every Other Weekend
• Rotating 8 Hour Shifts
• Day Shift: 6:00AM - 2:30PM
• Evening Shift: 2:00PM - 10:30PM
• Overnight Shift: 10:00PM - 6:30AM

Licensure/CertificationQualifications:

• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program OR current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry
