Essentia Health is hiring Nursing Assistants for Brainerd and Baxter, MN, with 56 hours per pay period and overnight shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The role supports the Med Surg department at St Josephs Medical Center, joining a team dedicated to patient-centered care.

Candidates should meet one of several education criteria, including nursing assistant training or current registry, with BLS certification preferred or obtainable within 1 month. Remote/hybrid work options may apply.

Formación

• Must have at least 6 months of patient care experience or completion of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program.
• EH Nursing Assistant Foundation training within 90 days of hire or proven nursing assistant training may apply.
• Current registration on the state nursing assistant registry is required or in-process.

• Safely transfer patients and maintain safe environment.

Location and Job Summary

Building Location: St Josephs Medical Center Department: 4003240 MED SURG - SJMC

Job Description: Become part of Essentia’s accomplished team in Brainerd and Baxter, Minnesota, where 465 lakes provide endless options for water sports and recreation. Education Qualifications

• Must meet ONE of the following requirements:
  • 6 months of patient care experience
  • Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program
  • Successful completion of an EH provided Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire
  • Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
  • Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry

Work Hours & Shift Details

This position MUST be able to work the following: 56 hours/pay period Every Other Weekend 8 Hour Shifts Overnight Shift: 11:00PM - 7:30AM.

Duties

• Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs
• Providing comfort care and other assistance
• Appropriately and safely transferring patients
• Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping
• Recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN
• Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.

Licensure & Certification

BLS certified or ability to become certified within 1 month from hire date. If qualified through the Essentia Health Foundation Course East Market: Completion of Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation course within 90 days of hire.
