Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Maplewood, MN is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the Med/Surg Neurology Unit at St. John’s Hospital. The role is 0.7 FTE (56 hours every two weeks) with 8-hour evening shifts and every-other-weekend rotation, offering a variable weekday schedule.

You will work with a RN-led team, performing vital sign checks, bladder scanning, glucose testing, and documentation. You’ll help patients and families and participate in improving patient care within a busy unit.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Eligible for Fairview OnTrack Nursing Assistant training or equivalent.
• Six months of direct care experience in a clinical setting may be required.
• Current enrollment in an LPN/RN/Nurse Practitioner program or MN Nursing Assistant Registry.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care duties under RN supervision for a group of patients.
• Conduct vital sign checks, bladder scans, blood glucose testing, and document cares.
• Report patient data and progress to the designated RN.
• Support education, communication with patients and families, and documentation in the EHR.
