The Nursing Assistant in Training (NAIT) is a temporary position designed to prepare NAITs to pass the Minnesota Nursing Assistant competency exam successfully. As an NAIT, you will perform duties similar to a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) once deemed competent through specific training. After completing the 75-hour NATCEP course, you will take and pass both MN state exams for skills and knowledge. You are allowed three attempts for the skills exam and four for the knowledge exam. You must be on the MN state registry within 4 months of your hire date. Upon passing both exams, you can apply internally for an open CNA position at your current facility.
