Nursing Assistant I

High Point Medical Center, AHWFB

Responsibilities include performing basic patient care and related nursing tasks to provide quality care aligned with the hospital's mission and nursing standards. Assisting licensed nurses in implementing care in predictable, uncomplicated, and stable patient situations as directed.

Position Highlights:

• Shift Schedule: Nights 7p-7a
• Department: Inpatient Rehab
• Location: High Point Medical Center, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of North Carolina State Approved Nurse Aide I course

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care, ensure safety, assist with activities of daily living
• Record vital signs, fluid intake/output, collect specimens
• Assist with meals and document dietary assistance
• Observe and report patient status
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and mobility
• Maintain cleanliness, manage supplies, inspect charts
• Respond promptly to call lights
• Ensure excellent customer service and communication
• Support team procedures and unit coordination
• Attend meetings and educational programs
• Maintain professionalism and adhere to standards
• Perform other duties as directed

Physical and Behavioral Requirements:

• Perform physical tasks including lifting and bending
• Maintain visual, olfactory, and tactile acuity
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff
• Manage high-stress situations
