Job summary

The Veterans Health Administration is seeking Nursing Assistants to learn and deliver basic nursing care under close supervision in outpatient, inpatient, home and community settings. Qualifications

• Six months of general experience.
• Ability to provide a range of patient/resident care under supervision.
• Ability to observe and report changes to supervisors.
• Ability to use basic nursing equipment and perform simple procedures.
• Effective communication with patients, families and health professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care for veterans as part of the nursing care team.
• Observe patients and report changes to supervisors promptly.
• Document care provided and patient observations on appropriate forms.
• Assist with nursing procedures and basic treatments under supervision.
• Collaborate in treatment planning meetings and maintain infection control.
