Job summary

Allina Health in Fridley, MN is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care under RN supervision. You will perform personal care, monitor vital signs, assist with mobility, and help maintain patient comfort and safety in a geriatric psychiatry unit.

Required CNA pathway or equivalent clinical experience, with BLS certification. The role is 0.6 FTE (48 hours per two weeks), day/night shifts, every other weekend rotate.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or 17 years with high school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of CNA program OR one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program OR completion of Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program OR previous direct patient care experience.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association OR the American Red Cross OR Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of patient care under RN supervision.
• Performs personal care: feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, linens.
• Collects and documents vital signs and observations.
• Assists with ambulation, transfer, positioning, and ROM.
• Supports fall prevention as per care plan.
• Transports medications within the site (excluding controlled substances).
• Reports health status changes to the RN and documents per guidelines.
• Ensures patient and staff safety; uses proper body mechanics.
