Job Summary

Geisinger is proud to offer a Nursing Assistant a $1500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, with a minimum hiring rate of $15.75, increased rates for experienced individuals, and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. We also offer up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse!

Job Duties

• Provide patient care within the nursing assistant scope of practice, supporting the multidisciplinary care plan.
• Observe, document, and report patient needs and condition changes promptly.
• Obtain and maintain specimens as per policy and physician orders.
• Assist patients with daily activities, hygiene, and linen changes.
• Conduct one-to-one patient safety watches as assigned.
• Process and transport specimens to the laboratory timely.
• Perform point-of-care testing and maintain related equipment.
• Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining equipment and supplies.
• Serve as a mentor for new staff and students.
• Handle clerical duties related to admissions, transfers, discharges, and documentation.
• Coordinate transportation for tests and communicate electronic information pertinent to the unit.
• Assist in supply ordering and communication with food services for patient diets.
• Operate and troubleshoot clerical equipment, schedule maintenance as needed.
• Transport non-controlled medications and blood products as necessary.

Position Details

• Full Time, Days/Evenings (36 hours/week)
• 3 shifts of 12 hours, 7am - 7:30pm
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or GED required; Specialty Training preferred. Minimum 1 year related work experience preferred. Basic Life Support certification required within 6 months.
